Institute of Nano Science & Technology, Mohali

INST, Mohali is government of India institution under Ministry of Science & Technology having recently built its new campus in the city. INST had desired to implement network connectivity for its current and future expansivity using wired and wireless tools and safeguards like unified thread management. OST awarded a contract to meet with their above goals and connectivity including wired/wireless and Firewall Securities for its 1200 nodes requirement successfully commissioned. The technology used was of CISCO in the wired, Fortinet in wireless and securities. The entire network is under warranty for onsite support till 2025. The entire campus was connected separately for surveillance with backup data and maintenance during 2021.

Panjab University Chandigarh

Panjab University department blocks in their 550-acre campus situated at Sector 14, Chandigarh was wired for network connectivity by OST Electronics way back in 2005 with giga fiber backbone and giga edge connectivity. Subsequently to meet with the 20000 students’ community and faculty along with the frequenting guest members of the campus and their demand for seamless network mobility, OST Electronics through its contract awarded for complete campus-wide Wi-Fi network with total security measures, had successfully implemented the then state-of-art technology Wi-Fi network during 2012. The entire campus is now on a seamless mobility using the Aruba access point consisting of 660 indoor and 160 outdoor along with 78 Alcatel POE switches in the entire campus. This Wi-Fi network is currently under comprehensive trouble-free operation after five years of OST’s warranties and on-site support.

Patiala Locomotive Works (formerly DMW), Patiala

Patiala Locomotive Works is a 4000-strong work force Railways organization having its own RAILNAGAR complex with workshop, administration complex and residential. The entire network of the offices including workshop was first connected by OST Electronics during 2006-2007 using 3COM (now Aruba) technologies and in 2018 with Ruckus Networks (now COMMSCOPE). The latest network connectivity being installed has 10 giga/40 giga at the core on high availability for its 2000 nodes in the campus.

Govt. Medical College, Chandigarh

GMCH Sector 32, Chandigarh was deciding to implement PACS, a medical software tool to enable seamless connectivity between various departments and senior residents inside the hospital premises and official residences to enable technology-upscaling with regards to medical treatments, surgeries, and post-facto support for patients. OST Electronics was awarded the contract the campus-wide networking connectivity to more than 800 nodes. Apart from the fully redundant backbone fiber and 10 giga core-to-distribution network along with fully managed edge network. The entire campus was on OST warranties for years from its commissioning, which executed on 99.5% uptime without any shutdown. GMCH in its 2022-23 plan is further envisaging to expand the network with newly constructed additional blocs and medical infrastructure to keep the network on par with any large medical institution of repute.

Semi-Conductor Laboratory, Mohali

SCL Mohali is a GOI technology campus in the field of semi-conductor chipset manufacturing as part of Department of Space, Government of India. This organization had been undergoing technological change and advancement and as part of its campus network connectivity, OST was awarded the contract for its connectivity for entire premises having more than 1050 nodes with 10 giga UTP and fiber connectivity. The technology and feature sets were of Brocade Networks (currently COMSCOPE) with 3 core 40 giga switches interconnected for meeting with the requirement of surveillance, internet/intranet connectivity along with 6 distribution switches and 28 edge switching devices. The entire passive connectivity including 4 km fiber was on Schneider Electric.

District courts of Hon’ble P&H High Court

As part of first phase of complete revamp of wired network connectivity for entire districts and sub-districts of the courts in the state of Punjab totaling to 6685 nodes, OST was awarded the contract. The entire network with 200 Layer switches and 19 distribution switches along with 5-year onsite support was successfully commissioned by OST during the year 2018. For the active, we had used the latest technology of CommScope range of switches.
